A new command, to love like Jesus has loved us

Love regardless of the deservingness of the other

Love that will do so with fullest intention

Are we content to: Hold grudges, gossip, be unforgiving, slander, moan, sow discord?
b) Its Importance (v35)

Evidence of the new birth – 1 John 4:7

Is there any evidence?

Our love is how the world sees Jesus.

This love should be the most visible thing about us.
c) Its Source (v36-38)

Learn from Peter. Come back to the gospel.

God is making new people altogether! That bear the fruit of love.

Put down your roots. Delight in God and his word!

DO YOU DELIGHT IN KNOWING GOD?

When we love God above all else, we love to obey his commands.

Learn to delight in God and cherish his word, pursue Jesus!

When we love God most, we will be able to love others best
